Trail Updates
The letter below is from The City of Encinitas Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts department.
The recent $5,000 donation will provide fencing along El Camino Del Norte from Cole Ranch Road to Rancho Santa Fe Road. The addition of this fencing will complete the the trail segment designated along this busy road.

Be aware of survey steaks and dirt deposited on trail and covered with a tarp.

The Stairs were in pretty bad shape and the fencing had been removed. Now it’s repaired and looking good!
Additional signs were also installed by City Staff.

Olivenhain trails were opened yesterday and the barriers were removed.
There are still accouple of wet spots along the creek on the Double LL Ranch Loop Trail. They will need some more time to dry out.

Because of extensive flooding caused by atmospheric rivers an unprecedented amount of rain has saturated our trails. Please do not use the trails until they are open again.

Jan 5, 2023: Recreational Trails Storm Damage – Temporary Closure
Due to the recent winter storms several recreational trails in Olivenhain have become saturated. To prevent trail damage and avoid unsafe trail conditions, temporary trail closures have been posted along Lone Jack Road, Double Ll Ranch Road, Fortuna Ranch Road, Copper Crest Road, and Lone Hill Lane. City staff will monitor conditions and will remove signage as the trails dry out.
Today we met at the new trail fencing along El Camino Del Norte in Olivenhain to officially hand off the check for $10k to Bob Keeley Encinitas Parks & Recreation Supervisor for the City of Encinitas.

The trail along Camino Del Norte in Olivenhain is progressing and is currently on schedule to be completed by the end of June 2022. What a wonderful asset for the community.
